Panel resizing

The thing that annoys me, is that not all icons are resized, making my
desktop look really chaotic. Fonts and fontsizes should be configured in
appearances. Perhaps it would be nice to have a global setting for
panels to select whether or not the icons should be stretched, but
that's another discussion. If I understand correctly, that svg icons are
stretched automatically and png icons are not, it should be easily
fixed, shouldn't it? Provide svg icons for all applets available in
Ubuntu?
