Hello!
Sorry for the late replay.
I mostly agree with what you said in your previous post so I won't
comment it here. Except the last paragraph :)

Why should we fear the African image of Ubuntu? Do Africa has that bad
image in our target audiences? If it's so, we should do our best to
shake it off (the bad image from Africa, not African theme from
Ubuntu). Compared to giving Microsoft a run, this is a easy task :)
African theme is one of the characteristics that makes Ubuntu
different (IMHO better). For people who know anything about free
software it should be obviously clear, that Ubuntu (as almost any
other free software project) is global effort. Others will stumble
upon term "free software" way before getting their hands on example
content (think website, CD cover, yelp, default home page in web
browser, friend/relative who recommended Ubuntu, etc.).
OK, so here is short list of tunes I liked from magnatune.com .If for
nothing else, I hope this helps to recognise more possibilities. See
download scripts in attachment.
A few things to hear before we all blow up
http://magnatune.com/artists/williamson
01 - don't know why, but I like it.

Calabashmoon
http://magnatune.com/artists/berkman
02 - blends in with African theme very well. People speaking in
background - reminder, that this distro is for human beings.
06 - very beautiful and melodic. Don't know if it could be shipped
alone as it's a bit slow at the begining.
07 - interesting, really nice and intriguing at some places.
10 - short, small, melodic.
11 - another nice track.
Chronic Dreams
http://magnatune.com/artists/four_stones
09 - Blends classical music with modern beat. If the whole piece is
too long I think we can cut it at 0.51. But this is really something
different. At least I haven't heard anything like that before (applies
to the next track as well).
11 - this one won't get in Ubuntu, but it's very innovative.
La Vie Chill
08 - If you like maachhi-mara you should like this one too. The audio
quality is better, and it doesn't become boring and repetitive. Stupid
name though.
The overall quality of music on magnatune is superior to remixcommons,
so if you have time you (and everybody else) should give it a try.
