Scannen über WLAN

Hallo,

ich möchte auf den Brother MFC-490CW Sanner über WLAN zugreifen. Dazu 
bin ich nach der Anleitung auf 
http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/bsc/public_s/id/linux/en/instruction_scn1b.html 
vorgegangen.

Leider meldet xsane "Kein Gerät erreichbar", obwohl das Drucken über 
CUPS einwandfrei nach entsprechender Anleitung funktioniert

Habt ihr eine Idee, was ich falsch mache, bzw wie ich das Problem 
beheben kann?
