Kubuntu 10.4 + Intel GMA X4500

Liebe Gemeinde,

ich habe schon einmal gepostet, denn ich finde nicht wirklich einen Weg 10.4 
zu installieren: Die CD startet einfach nicht.

Jetzt habe ich 9.10 installiert was auch sang und klanglos gelang, doch 
fürchte ich mich vor einem Update auf 10.4 da es dann möglicherweise Probleme 
mit dem X-Server geben könnte (Wie bei debian, knoppix, suse)

Das sind die Chips:

MSI G41TM-E43 mit

• Intel® G41 Chipset
- Supports FSB 800/1066/1333 MHz.
- Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (Intel® GMA X4500)


• Intel® ICH7 Chipset
- Hi-Speed USB (USB2.0) controller, 480Mb/sec, up to 8 ports.
- 4 SATAII ports with transfer rate up to 3Gb/s.
- 1 channel Ultra ATA 100 bus master IDE controller.
- PCI Master v2.3, I/O APIC.

Dem Gefühl nach tippe ich auf Probleme mit Intel® GMA X4500.

Bin ich der Einzige, der mit diesem Chip auf lucid lynx wechseln will?
Ist ein Update möglicherweise Unproblematisch? 
Auch wenn ich von ubuntu statt kubuntu (Was mein Ziel wäre) komme?
Wo kann ich sinnvoll nach Antworten suchen?
