meine Empfehlung 

kopier die Fehlermeldung deines Compilers und such danach bei google / alltheweb.com

wenn Du die Ursache dafür verstanden hast, bau dir deinen Kernel nach diesen Kriterien und versuch es nochmals. 

Wenn es dann noch immer nicht läuft such mal nach winmodem Motorola SM56+debian oder winmodem xxxx under linux
