Hier half ein BIOS update. Da es von Dell nur eine EXE gibt, habe ich
mir eine kleine FAT16 Partition angelegt, freedos von CD gebootet (zb
auf der grandiosen grml Live CD drauf) und dann von C: (eben die FAT16
Partition) gestartet. Mit etwas gefummmel ginge es sicherlich auch vom
USB-Stick. Diskettenlaufwerk hab ich nicht.


Alles im allen bin ich mit dem Vostro 200 zufrieden. Die ATI-Grafikkarte
hab ich ausgebaut, da noch eine ("undokumentierte") onBoard Intel-Grafik
ist. Mit dieser geht Compiz von Haus aus und das mit freien Treibern.
Der Lüfter mit 1500RPM ist etwas leicht laut und das Foxconn-Mainboard
hat keine Legacy-Schnittstellen (PS2, LPT). Aber bei dem Preis..
