automatische Grub-Einträge in menu.lst beim Kernel Update

Du musst in der Datei /boot/grub/menu.lst einfach das splash aus der
defoptions Zeile rausnehmen:

## additional options to use with the default boot option, but not with
the
## alternatives
## e.g. defoptions=vga=791 resume=/dev/hda5
# defoptions=quiet splash locale=de_DE

und dann mit sudo update-grub den Generator einmal neu anschmeissen.

Übrigends, du must wirklich nur das splash rausnehmen. Komm nicht auf
die Idee es einzukommentieren oder so.
