danke nochmal für Deine Vorschläge,
wenn ich eines von beiden PGM zum addieren meine Online-Zeit überreden könnte
wäre pppstatus perfekt.

zeigt unter anderem:
IP Address: ││
Top Speed: 0.00 KB/s ││
Active Interface: ppp0 Graphic Using Speed: 33.6 Kb/s ││
Online Time: 0:1:20 <------ wird aber leider nicht
fortgeschrieben. Ist also fast wie "plog" nur etwas genauer.

Nachtrag.
nach langem Suchen und hin und her habe ich mich für folgendes entschieden.:
egrep ist mein Freund.
franky at boss:/var/log$ egrep -n "(Connect time)" syslog
453:Oct 5 10:13:29 localhost pppd[7727]: Connect time 16.1 minutes.
506:Oct 5 10:18:22 localhost pppd[8251]: Connect time 1.8 minutes.
569:Oct 5 10:36:50 localhost pppd[8766]: Connect time 1.3 minutes.
1424:Oct 5 18:31:18 localhost pppd[7642]: Connect time 0.7 minutes.
Hier habe ich alle Online-Zeiten, muß sie halt addieren...............:-)
So kann ich meine Internetrechnung Kontrollieren und sehe vorher was an Kosten
auf mich zu kommt.
