Kein modconf und auch kein /dev/video !?!

Hallo again,

da meine USB-Webcam von der Hardwareerkennung offensichtlich nicht
erkannt wurde, wollte ich die Webcam manuell ins System einbinden.

Zu meiner grossen Überraschung geschah nun folgendes:

root at ubuntu:/home/matthias # modconf
bash: modconf: command not found

root at ubuntu:/home/matthias # apt-get install modconf
Paketlisten werden gelesen... Fertig
Abhängigkeitsbaum wird aufgebaut... Fertig
Paket modconf ist nicht verfügbar, wird aber von einem anderen
Paket referenziert. Das kann heißen, dass das Paket fehlt, dass es
veraltet ist oder nur aus einer anderen Quelle verfügbar ist.
E: Paket modconf hat keinen Installationskandidaten
