what colour is Orange exactly?

Hi all,

when we set aside the youthful brownness and moved to a design rich
orange and aubergine the Ubuntu Community Orange was introduced here
http://design.ubuntu.com/brand/colour-palette and specifed as being
#DD4814 (plus some other ways of saying the same thing like C0 M79 Y100
K0 and Pantone 1665). This was all jolly exciting and the community,
being given it's very own Orange, went off and designed a ton of logos,
websites, tshirts, badges etc.

some months ago, with very little fanfare there was an update here
https://developer.ubuntu.com/en/phone/apps/qml/tutorials/ubuntu-ui-toolkit-palette/
in which a new orange #E95420 was introduced. This was going to be used
on the phone and now is, which means the phone operating system pages
don't quite match ubuntu websites or indeed the colour of the case in
which the phone slots. (not that calibration is perfect, but it is now
out by design rather than being out by quirks of optical physics)

My question is, what is right? #DD4814 or #E95420? Or both? Are things
supposed to not quite match?

Alan.
