I think the LoCo Directory Portal is very useful for internal
organization, but underutilized. But it fails as an external outreach
nexus because it isn't discoverable.
The proposal makes it clear that the plan isn't to replace the LoCo
Directory, but to use Meetup to supplement outreach, and to strengthen
the utility of the LoCo Directory. That's something I think can be very
useful.
LoCos aren't fan clubs, they're Ubuntu advocacy groups. Not every LoCo
meeting or event will be appropriate for Meetup, but when LoCos are
planning real-world outreach, Meetup is definitely the place to be. So
I think the kind of integration being proposed would be a big advantage
for those LoCos who also choose to use Meetup.
