Inspiring the Community

I have followed the "Ubuntu Governance Reboot" thread and taken some
time to reflect on the thoughts many have expressed. The idea I am
presenting comes from my personal experiences along the path of becoming
a contributor.

I think Governance could make it more clear that people can choose to
organize their own teams, initiatives and sub-projects with no need for
approval from governance. If people see a need or have a strong interest
in an area they should feel empowered to work on it and organize others
to work with them. They only need to work with Ubuntu Governance to ask
for aid and assistance.

As a community leadership we can help by celebrating these initiatives
and groups. We can highlight these groups and what they are doing. The
only question I have is how do we find out about these groups? Do we
have stories to tell about past groups that found success in
contributing to Ubuntu that we can share?
