Development of Technocratic roots in community

Dear people,

I know that, even if people do not admit it openly, we do have a feeling
that we should only let the technically sound people get into the process
and the community. It is not out of any form of hostility that I have
witnessed, but even I am a professional in some other field and I too have
those thoughts sometime.

The thought that we would form a group of intellectual people who could
work together without dumbing down things so that other people would know.
All the others, just go and read things, become eligible and come work with
us.

But I wanted to highlight a point. I might also sound dumb because I am
scared of creating a PGP key or reading a mail from an archive (Frankly
speaking, I did not figure it out till now). But you will have to admit
that I, within a span of two days have learnt about everything to do
(almost) with Ubuntu and setup a launchpad page and pulled a group of
people to work with me. That might not sound like much. But to know the
gravity of the situation, try changing the piston rings of your car. It is
a simple task. You just have to learn about engine, various components of
it and pull the engine apart and change the piston rings. To really know
how tough it is, try doing the task. This is what happens when you do
something you have no knowledge about.

I might have sounded dumb when I said that I was scared of PGP keys. But
this way of classification of people basing on how much they know is not
ideal. This is not to frighten you, but clear up your mind from that doubt
about what use is derived of getting dumb people involved using these
videos.

*And the reason why I am so involved is because, in a few months time, the
first Ubuntu phones will be released. That is when we get a lot of
publicity. People will be keen about taking interest into what Ubuntu is.
And if we cannot provide an answer to the question, and can't invite people
into Ubuntu then, that would be the stupidest thing that we could ever do.*
