Strategy and road map of my project "UbuntuNewbie"

Dear people,

There seems to be a lot of misconceptions about how the project is going to
function. I realized it because of my chat with belkinsa. Please read this
mail over and over again properly. I will try and explain the strategy.

Strategy:

There is a launchpad page with a list of blueprints. There is a
exhaustive-list-dev where all the ways you can contribute to Ubuntu and all
the facilities are listed. The list is incomplete. So, please put all the
ways you can contribute in the work items. An example item going into the
list would be Ubuntu Classroom. Or Contributing ideas in Launchpad. (which
i realized just now during the chat). That is the reason why I need your
input on that because i don't know all the things to do with ubuntu.

Then there are individual items which need a few pre-requisites. These are
listed in the individual blue prints. For example, get into translations
blueprint. There in the work item, you can find out that there is a work
item called "configuring a foreign keyboard". But, you also have to go into
Launchpad for giving the actual contributions. So, a new work item would be
"intro to launchpad". Get even the most silly things you can ever think of.
Because they are silly because you know them. And we don't. I found that
Rodney Dawes told me that we could show the mail sent in the mailing list
via a link. Me being an avid user of the internet did not know this. Hence
my point.

After the list of them is accumulated, I will be posting the scripts and
tentative videos putting them up for discussion. I might need some input on
that as well. I might not record how to translate into arabic because I
don't know how to use arabic keyboard. So, someone can record it and send
it to me. Or compose a background sound. Or make an animation.

I wanted to put all of the scripts and videos on Bazaar but it says create
a signing key and I was scared. I will be exploring that part soon enough.
Then you can better track me.

After that, these videos will be posted on the net. Then, I want a separate
newbie.ubuntu.com extension to put those videos on a web page an making it
and make it intutiative.

*ok. So, my plan Introduce to Ubuntu -> Tell them that you can contribute
by these ways -> Tell them the basics of what they need to know to start
contributing*

*I am not telling them the tutorials on what to contribute. *

*Let me repeat. I did not know that contributing translations was easy. I
stumbled on community website before. I knew before that I could make
translations. Just, the instructions said, go to launchpad, create an
account and start translating. What is Launchpad? What if I write a wrong
translation? You need to be proficient in your language. I am not a
scholar. Too much overwhelming information caused me to run away. So, this
video is for me telling, "launchpad is nothing like a legal contract
binding you to develop but a hobby you want. setup a keyboard like this.
Give us a translation. We will figure out the rest."*
Then you can thank me on seeing any change in the user base. Hope that
makes things clear.
