Adam,

Actually, the change will be done in DNS and CNAMES. When the repos go
live, we'll change the "A" records for the regional repos to CNAMES.

However, to answer your question, we won't be able to easily make the
Precise images use the new S3 repos until the CNAME cut-over. Also,
since the Precise images have a kernel bug that prevents boot, the need
isn't pressing now.
