A new release of the Ubuntu Cloud Images for stable Ubuntu release 10.04
LTS (Lucid Lynx) is available at [1]. Images are available for download
or immediate use on EC2 via published AMI ids.
The only changes since the previous release [2] are inclusion of stable
release updates (SRU). These changes include both security and bug fixes.
In total, 54 packages have been updated. Below are some highlights.
* linux-image-2.6.32-316-ec2 [3] and linux-image-2.6.32-32-virtual [4]
were updated to address dozens of bugs and several CVEs.

If you are already running an instance using the previous release
(ubuntu-lucid-10.04-i386-server-20110201.1), then you can apply all
necessary updates with:
sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get dist-upgrade; sudo reboot
If you are launching new instances, you should strongly consider using the
refreshed images. You will have a newer kernel on first boot, and less
software updates to apply.
