Actually, KVM supports this for AMD processors and will soon add support
for it for Intel as well. You don't get bare-metal speeds, but much
faster than non-hardware accelerated virtualizations can provide.
Virtualbox supports VT-x/SVM, but I don't think it supports it in
guests. You should be able to run a UEC in guests on a KVM hypervisor.
