Depending on what you're doing, you might also take a look at Nginx (
http://wiki.nginx.org/) and Zeus products.  At CloudCamp Austin, Zeus talked
about their load balancer - http://www.zeus.com/products/zxtmlb/.  Nginx
seems fairly easy to add and remove servers to the pool.
