[Ubuntu-Classroom] Fwd: [Training Community] Fwd: teacher certification

Cathy,*
* I saw your question on the Linuxchix list and haven't had time to
reply until now. While the Ubuntu Desktop Course (both instructor-led
and eLearning) are suitable for teacher audiences, there is no
certification that is specific to teachers or the classroom at the
current time. Only the Ubuntu Certified Professional leads to a
certification through the Linux Professional Institute (LPI); that
material is aimed at System Administrators. I'd be happy to discuss
yours and other thoughts on the idea of teacher training and/or
classroom training materials during our next Training Team meeting, 8
October, 20:00 UTC in #ubuntu-training or another time if you're not
available then.

Off the top of my head the only linux-specific teacher training
materials that I know of are some of the materials developed for the
OLPC project. Their recent book sprint included just such materials and
I also know their deployment process now includes some basic teacher
training. You can check the olpc wiki for more info and I'll try to
locate more info as well.

regards,

Belinda
