Este error me aparecia cuando configuraba mal o simplemente cuando no tenia 
configurado mi X. revisa el archivo de configuracion en /etc/X11/xorg.conf 
para que soporte tu nueva tarjeta, si no lo tienes ejecuta "*dpkg**-**
reconfigure* xserver-xorg" y te creara el archivo de configuracion... pq 
segun veo no localiza el archivo.. "(EE) Unable to locate/open config file"
