Sorry for the delay, but I am really extremely busy right now and
would appreciate some help with organizing...

Martin got in touch with me to inform me that Saturday, November 21st
would be available, so I think we should settle for this.
What needs to be done is:
- schedule for the day: I suggest to organize this in BoF style, with
maybe one or two introductions to what's new in Karmic Koala on
several fronts (Gnome, KDE, Netbook Remix, Plasma Netbook Preview,
etc.)
- Puzzle logo for the poster and advertising: We should work on a
common press release with Puzzle and should have this ready by the end
of the week, so we can launch advertising ASAP. For the record, there
already is a list of media to get in touch with on the wiki page
mentioned above in my previous mail.
@Martin: could you send Iris a logo for Puzzle so she has it for the
poster, please?
- A definite text for the poster so Iris can start working. I wonder
if some flyers would be a good idea, or if we stick to a more social
media approach (see next).
- @Everybody: please start blogging, twittering and denting as soon as
we have the schedule set. Don't forget to include the group tags
!ubuntu, !kubuntu as well as !Gnome and !KDE in your tweets and dents,
and use tags (the # sign) for keywords to get more attention. I bet
the new social media tools will help spreading the news quit a lot :)
I already mentioned the release party in one of my blogs and will blog
and dent (which is also relayed to Twitter) again on a regular basis
to make sure people get reminders. The more people do this, the
better, since we want to reach a broad public in Switzerland. Don't
forget to mention Puzzle as our sponsor :)
On a side note, there is an interesting paper about the use of social
media for the community here:
http://209.85.129.132/search?q=cache:http://www.lydiapintscher.de/whitepapers/Social_Media_Guide_For_Free_Software_Projects.pdf
(sorry for the cached link, her website is down right now :( )
Work that I have done so far:
- CDs are ordered and confirmed by Shipit. You might have heard about
the new conditions for Shipit: they will now only send CDs to LoCo
Teams, all other request are asked to either download or buy the CDs,
or get in touch with the LoCo Teams. So I would like to distribute the
CDs I have to the team, but it would be convenient if I could hand out
those personally, sending those by snail mail around Switzerland
myself is not really cheap. So please, dear SwissTeam colleagues, join
the party and get your official CDs :)
- I will present KDE 4.3.2 and either I or Mark will give a short
presentation about the new Amarok 2.2.x
- set up the wiki page, @everybody: thanks for upgrading the content
everytime you do something.
Let's make this party rock!
Regards, Myriam
