> Ubuntu est un logiciel libre - il est donc gratuit.

D'OH!

<rant>
Again someone (or some "Redacteur") confusing the mixing up the meanings of free as in "free beer" and free as in
"free software".

Even worse: Frech - in contrast to english - actually _has_ different words for the two meanings: "libre" and
"gratuit". It's plain _wrong_ to present one as the consequence of the other.
Ubuntu is "gratuit" _and_ "libre" - but it's not "gratuit" _because_ it is "libre". It is gratuit because Canonical
wanted it to be. Free software does not necessarily have to be gratuit. Why just doesn't this fit into people's minds?

My french isn't good enough - someone willing to write a "letter to the editor" at LeTemps?

regards

Marc
