Hi,
We already have a "baby site" crying for your love. It's our wiki
page. Since it is a wiki page, it is easy for anyone to contribute. I
don't see any urgent needs for another web page. It seems it's already
confusing enough for people with the number of sites and portals we
already have.
Another thing is that there are so many half-empty, half-maintained
web sites out there, we don't need to add another one. Even our wiki
page is not totally up to task, many of the contact person links are
dead, for instance.
My advice for web pages is: content first -> then publish (not the
other way). Of course if we get a team together to produce useful
content and actually get some content that doesn't fit better to our
wiki page, or the Swisslinux, ubuntu-fr, ubuntu-it and ubuntuusers.de
web sites, then we should consider a new one.
Since the ubuntu-ch.org domain is registered by Canonical we don't
have to worry about it getting abused and rush to get it either.
However maybe a redirect to the wiki page would be ok, although I
don't see the need.
If you can get free server space, please consider helping out
SwissLinux, since they have to pay their hosting currently (ref our
discussion in January).
Best regards,
Tormod
PS. Everybody, we can need some help and activity on smaller posters
and written material for the OpenExpo!
