Hi Chris, nice forums but there seem to be so many now. I did as Amir says but now I have another problem, I had to download Synaptic to do what Amir suggested and now when I enter my password to open Synaptic, it opens for a fraction of a second and vanishes ! I can't find it anywhere. So I'm stuck again. I hope 12.04 will be better. all the best.
> Hello all, In my hunt to find out why I have no Login sound, I found on Ask Ubuntu that I should use Config editor to do some checks, so I downloaded it from the software center and I don't know if it relevant to 11.10 with unity, because it does nothing. None of the items in left side of the window respond. Any ideas? Thank you. Btw, when I run the machine from the memory stick all the sounds are there.
