I am running 10.04 on 4 machines right now, all installed fresh, two running in remote mode from my main desktop... and the newest machine is a P3 (4 perhaps?) 1.5 GHz... I find that with older machines at least 500 megs of RAM and 128 - 256 megs of VRAM are the ticket. And avoid Intel motherboards... had nothing but problems with video with Intel boards with onboard video... yukka! M.
