As long as the new drive is at least as large as the old one, you could 
do a clone (http://clonezilla.org/)... (you'd want to either put the old 
drive in, say, an external USB3 case, or put the drive in another 
computer on your home network and connect through ethernet, for example.)

You could also just back up your data and re-install from scratch.
