Touch screen support is available in Ubuntu, yes, but I'm never going to
claim it works on any and all hardware.
If you can go to a store, take a live CD (or, really, USB key) and ask if
you can try it out on the hardware. Otherwise, it's generally a good idea
to make sure they have a generous return policy.
Or buy from a place that sells Ubuntu pre-installed.
