Most of those errors indicate you're not in the folder with the files.
the warning about permissions on the .gpg.conf file can be safely ignored
for the time being.

My guess is that the downloads went to a folder named Downloads (note the
capitalization: it's important).

My suggestion is as follows.
  (1) log in as the user that downloaded the files..
  (2) open a command terminal using control+alt+T.
  (3) change your current working directory by typing "cd Downloads".
  (4) verify the files are there by typing "ls" and reviewing the list of
files displayed -- if the .iso and .iso.sig files are not displayed, you're
in the wrong place
  (5) continue as directed with the signature verification steps.
