Slow computer

My computer slowed right down yesterday and still is slow today.

It is is as it has a virus or something.

Any suggestions on how to fix it?

I have 12.04 Ubuntu.

Only had it for a month or so.

One comment: /media will contain a folder with the volume name of the stick so it may not always be /media/usb


I just tested it on my system and it is /media/16D2-D0BB where 16D2-D0BB is the volume name of my USB stick.
