In the case of a number of machines all updating from the network:

> A) Do a complete install from DVD for each machine and then have to do internet updates
> B) Grab a netinstall image and install using that for each machine which requires internet

You'd really like to use, or set-up one of them as, an apt-cache-ng 
system. Point the balance of the deployed systems at it so they are 
fetching the installs and updates at internal network speeds, not 
killing your upstream network connection.
