I have *ahem* quite a few email accounts and I like having the GMail
syncing / downloading on a schedule with the rest of my email. I can
also take advantage of the filters and actions in my Claws Mail
(Evolution is bloatware imho...) to pop incoming GMails into the right
folders for action.
Then every few weeks I pop into GMail and clean out the inbox and spam
folders.
