Nothing is stopping you from installing Ubuntu. Having said that,
success will depend on how well your chosen hardware works with Ubuntu.
Your first stop should be the Ubuntu-certified hardware list located
here: http://webapps.ubuntu.com/certification/

If your hardware is not on this list, then I recommend you seek out a
friendly Ubuntu human who has *exactly* your configuration and get
specific advice.
