canon camcorder

Hello, I have had time to look at this, and there are 3 CD,s involved with
the start up, all for windows or mac, and the first 2 I can read ok but
parts the third one titled Video Tools wont work. So it appears I cant do
the installation.       As a reminder, I am trying to get a Canon FS-300a
camcorder to work when using the USB port on a Toshiba Satellite P-300
laptop. Since I am running Ubuntu 10.10, what can I do to get it running ?
