LUG outreach

Mark and Ilija stepped up at the last meeting and offered to help with
contacting LUGs. Rather than going over this with them individually,
I thought I'd run it by everyone and see if it's something they'd like
to do.

We just want to let LUGs know that we're out here.

If they're doing something Ubuntu-specific, we'd like to know about
it, so we can let the broader Ubuntu community know. We're happy to
publicise Ubuntu- and Linux-related events (especially once we have a
working website...). And we can get them CDs to distribute if they're
out spreading Free Software in their community.

In return, all we ask is they let their members know about Ubuntu
Canada. That we'd be happy for any interested people in their
community to join our mailing list
(https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-ca), join our forum
(http://canada.ubuntuforums.org) and chat in our IRC channel
(#ubuntu-ca on Freenode).

I'd encourage any of you to sign up for the mailing list of a LUG near
you and let them know we're here. If you can, go out to a meeting!
I've found KWLUG to be a great way to find out more about esoteric
technical topics I wouldn't have thought about otherwise, and to meet
up with like minded Free Software enthusiasts. If you join in, I'm
sure you'll find people there who would be happy to help you get more
out of Ubuntu and Free Software.

Darcy.
