Darcy,

My directions for Lightsribe CD/DVD Labels on Lucid 64bit, web page
version at http://sites.google.com/site/alucidfs/how-i-do/lightsribe-64bit

Required Downloads:
1) "Lightscribe System Software" DEB package
(lightscribe-1.18.14.1-linux-2.6-intel.deb) from:
http://www.lightscribe.com/downloadsection/linux
2) Label Maker software "LaCie's 4L" DEB from:
http://uploads.mitechie.com/lightscribe/4l_1.0-r6_i386.deb

Installation:
1) System Software
$ sudo dpkg --force-architecture -i lightscribe-1.18.14.1-linux-2.6-intel.deb
NOTE: requires libstdc++.so.5 - see
http://sites.google.com/site/alucidfs/notes/libstdc-so-5-error

2) LaCie's 4L Label Maker
$ sudo dpkg --force-architecture -i 4l_1.0-r6_i386.deb

Fix the missing liblightscribe.so.1 error:
$ sudo ln -s /usr/lib/liblightscribe.so.1 /usr/lib32/
$ sudo ln -s /usr/lib/liblightscribe.so /usr/lib32/
$ sudo ldconfig

Run with (NOTE requires elevated privileges to write on disk):
$ gksu 4L-gui

Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) 64-Bit LightScribe Labels available on
LKaestner's Flickr page at http://www.flickr.com/photos/lkaestner/

Hope that helps,
George
