There's not much point checking the md5 in more than one place - if it's

Installing 9.04 would have reinstalled grub. In the future, you can do
this from a livecd without installing the whole OS.
I don't understand what Alfred's problem is. You're welcome to try.

That's why you're getting package signature errors - you have to
manually install the GPG keys for 3rd party repositories into your keyring.
