Reseting sound preferences.

I was installing the driver for my motherboard ( an asus p5q pro) and 
upon installation of the audio portion of the driver I completely lost 
any sound coming from my computer. I rebooted and experianced no 
changes. I did an update, and still no changes. So I uninstalled the 
driver and try to reinstall alsa and no changes.

Long story short: is there any way to reset Lucid's default audio settings?
