You certain you actually have bluetooth? Both of my laptops have
outward signs of bluetooth (lights, etc.) but both lack the hardware.
A simple lspci can prove it.
Now if you do have bluetooth, be aware that the code for that in
GNOME/Ubuntu has been in a bit of flux recently but has gotten better.
