Problem with decompression .tar.gz

One thing you could do is download the .deb file to a USB stick, copy that
to your hp mini and install it manually.

Check out the following page:

*http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=linux-backports-modules-jaunty*

Your version is the top one under "Exact Hits."

The file is probably this one:

*
http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux-meta/linux-backports-modules-jaunty_2.6.28.16.21_i386.deb
*

To install it you can double-click on it and select "Install Package" or you
can run the following command from a console:

*sudo dpkg -i linux-backports-modules-jaunty_2.6.28.16.21_i386.deb*
