do-release-upgrade is a command line command.  It's a python script,
essentially doing the same thing than the graphical upgrade-manager
does.

Under the hood it is not exactly equivalent to do a manual "apt-get
dist-upgrade".  There are a few differences between the two
approaches.  Not sure what they are, but I have seen references to
that fact.  Look for example at the last couple of paragraphs in this
