PDF problem

Ray, I admire your industriousness.

Your email program, epiphany, doesn't know what to do with the PDF
document, that's why it's opted to download it. It will continue to
download everything it doesn't understand.

I also use epiphany to get to my Hotmail account, though it's not my
primary account. I tested it today to see what it would do. When I
open the message with an attachment, I get a message at the top that
reads: "Attachments, pictures, and links in this message have been
blocked for your safety. "Show Content""

After I click on the "Show Content" link I can then open the PDF link
and I get a dialog box with three options. "Save As...", "Cancel" or
"Open."

In my case, it opens using Adobe Reader 9. This version of reader was
installed using Synaptic.

You could try still installing the Adobe Reader plugin. I think it's
worth it. To do that, click on System --> Administration --> Synaptic
Package Manager.

You might be asked to type in your password at this point.

Then click on the Search button on the menu bar.

Type in the word "acroread."

It will find the right version of Adobe Reader (known as acroread) and
you can install it. To verify that the epiphany plugin was installed,
run epiphany and then in the address bar, type in the following:

about:plugins

You should see a list of all plugins installed and Adobe Reader.

Best of luck in your Linux adventures.

Andrew.
