Linux-friendly PDA?

I'm really interested in the N900.   The only issue here in Canada is that
it does not support some of the frequency bands that you might want:

There was a rumour back in August that a Canadian version would be
available, but this was squashed by Nokia.   Maybe there will be some new
announcements in the new year.
