Kodak easyshare M893 and Ubuntu

Does anyone have experience attaching a Kodak easyshare camera to Ubuntu?
I'm using Karmic (9.10). When I attach the camera, Ubuntu recognises it as a
camera and prompts to start F-Spot. I launch F-Spot which hangs with the
following error message:

Error initializing camera: -60: Could not lock the device.

Thanks for any suggestions.
