You don't download any of those files, use the native Ubuntu tools
instead to access the software repositories.
* System->Administration->Synaptic Package Manager (it'll ask you for
your password).
* Click the search button at the top and enter "flashplugin" (no quotes)
and click Search.
* You should see a package called falshplugin-nonfree. Select it by
clicking the box to the left.
** If you don't see the entry, you need to enable the non-free
repositories first as I believed it was explained to you before.
** If you see the entry, and it shows as already installed (a green
box to the left) then ... have you re-started Firefox since you
installed the flashplugin? To be sure, logout and login, and
try YouTube again.
* Click the Apply button to get the software installed. You can exit
Synaptic when it is done.
* Exit Firefox, ensure that no browser window remains open (logout/login
if you want).
* Re-launch Firefox and try again the URL to see what version you get
installed (and try YouTube).
BTW, I assume you are running Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10, are you?
