Problem was related to a set of True Type Fonts I installed and was using on my desktop with conky. Disabling connky has fixed the issue.

Thanks Andy! I'll give that a try! It's a new install anyways.
I also did more digging on my logs and it looks like the problem is related to ndiswrapper. Disabling the led options on rc.local also did not solve it.
8.10 here I come!! :)

Hi Victor,
I installed 8.10 without any issues.
I would say that its actually faster then 8.04 and works smoother.
I would suggest that you upgrade to 8.10 and used the atk driver.
I even got google earth installed and running on it.
