I think there's more than one options to enable the top and bottom sides. One is under "Desktop Cube" and the other is called Cube Caps.

Hi Bob,
On my machine the keys to make the cube rotate are ALT-CTRL-LEFT MOUSE KEY
then move the mouse. Do this over an open desktop area. Using that
key-mouse button combination over top of an application won't work.
Do you have the application "Advanced Desktop Effects Settings (ccsm)"
installed? If not goto your "Add /Remove" menu item and do a search for
compiz.

Subject: Compiz Cube orientation
I've been having much fun with the Compiz screen candy, but haven't figured
out how to display the top or bottom of the desktop cube. Which Compiz
Config Settings Manager tool do I use to tilt the orientation of the cube?
