CD/DVD BURNERS?

Hi Andrew:

I noticed that the IDE cables were flaky. So Saturday I'll replace, the
ones going to the CDrom and DVD Burner. Then see if I'm still getting
troubles. One day the DVD player would mount OK, then the next it would
not, but the CDROM would. I replaced a Master / Slave Jumper on the DVD
Burner which was quite loose, but it was still flaky. This Confuser I
have I made myself from parts. It's worked very well for a long time,
almost 3 years, but now there are a few little quirks.


If it still acts up after the cable change then I'll re install the
programs, taking them out of the /var/cashe/apt/archives/ first, so any
bad code does not get re-installed.
