Getting Hardy on the news?

So, I noticed today the fancy Hardy Heron countdown on the Ubuntu web
site. (Yippee, it looks like that new heron theme is final!).

*Sigh*... 30 days... what are we missing?
Hardy is showing the best of desktop Linux, again, which has visibly
improved in the last little while (particularly in scheduler land),
which makes it the best hardware neutral operating system ever.
Furthermore, it is already notable as an LTS release. Well, of course,
that makes it newsworthy! Now all we need is the news people.

I think it would be really worthwhile if CBC made a mention of Ubuntu's
fantastic new release somewhere in their news broadcasts on April 24 or
25. However, I have seen them miss Ubuntu releases in favour of people's
home renovations, which really grinds my gears. That would certainly be
unhappy if it happened with Hardy Heron, since it accounts for many
thousands of people's renovations!
Does anyone know of things that can be done to see that they mention
Hardy to the masses? (Even if merely for that warm fuzzy feeling...)

I suppose one thing to do is think of ways this is relevant to Canada or
stereotypical Canadian ideals, since CBC loves that...
-Montreal houses one of Canonical's support centres
-Err, some download mirrors set up in Canada?
-Notable contributions by Canadians?
-Really good translations
-The project as a whole (well, everything used here) is very, very
international. Completely Fair Scheduler, for example, is by Ingo Molnár
in Hungary, inspired by Con Kolivas in Australia and accepted into the
popular branch by an odd Finnish guy in the States.

Well, as you can see, my idea maker is tired today. Much room for other
people's thoughts! (Oh, and I do not consider this need exclusive to
CBC; other news broadcasters are even less receptive to this type of
news...)
Bottom line: We should make sure that national news outlets mention
Ubuntu, and have a lot of reasons to do so. Any ideas?

Bye,
-Dylan
