Perhaps you need to configure Apache to handle PHP pages?  If so, this
has nothing to do with Joomla.

Running Apache does require study, research, and reading in my
experience.  Google, of course, is your friend.

Perhaps a search on something like:
   configure PHP with Apache ubuntu
will yield some good HOWTO advice?
