I had worked in one of the "corporate monster" stores here in
Fredericton (.ie:  Staples...wait that wasn't an ie) and I had noticed
that a lot of users were complaining about Vista... Some customer
hadn't a sweet clue even how to start using it...

While Vista is fairly new do you think this would be a good time to
offer an alternative OS?  If I had the specs of a few systems in the
city and I knew they were compatible I could provide support for those
systems and put any money earned penny for penny back into our local
group (once we have some money, we can spread the word)...

Okay request for comments:

What do does everyone think about the idea of scouting around the city
for good deals then comparing them against a hardware compatibility
list? I certainly don't want to dig my own grave on this one, I just
think it would be a good way to help out some of the consumers in the
city... and raise advertising money for our group...

and yes I know... the advertising would be support ONLY.
